"Hua Hua" Root-Seeking Journey Returns This August — Panda Tea Eco-Culture Community Warms Hearts

发布日期:2026-07-31

As August 2026 approaches, the "Panda Tea House Science Salon" at Chengdu's "Urban Panda Village" Shizi Community is set to reopen its doors, continuing its heartfelt mission to trace the roots of beloved giant panda "Hua Hua." Every Sunday morning, the salon invites panda experts and devoted panda enthusiasts to sit around a tea table, chatting about Hua Hua's family and the remote mountain homeland of these celebrated bears. This seven-year-old public welfare initiative stands as a warm testament to how the "Panda + Tea" ecological culture has taken root in urban Chinese life.

Seven Years of Dedication: Tracing Hua Hua's Roots Over a Cup of Tea

Since its founding in 2019, the Panda Tea House Science Salon has hosted dozens of sessions. Each event is open to all — from university volunteers and community mothers to devoted panda fans and first-time visitors. In the cozy 330-square-meter space, 84 guests can fill a full day without anyone leaving. Speakers share stories of Hua Hua; at the tea table, an embroiderer shares her real transformation from mahjong table to knitting bench.

The new round of root-seeking activities launching in August will continue the theme "from one panda to a bamboo forest," helping the public understand the 8-million-year evolutionary journey of the giant panda family and the deep bond between China's national treasure and its mountain forests — all over a relaxed cup of tea.

Panda Embroiderers from Chengdu to Milan: Weaving the "Panda+" Ecosystem Stitch by Stitch

One of the most touching moments at the salon came on April 22, 2023, when "Auntie" Luo Zeqiong shared her story. Originally an ordinary figure in the five-dimensional symbiosis value, she once trembled as she picked up a needle after years at the mahjong table. Today, the "Panda Embroiderers" creative team she leads has grown to over 100 members, with more than 40 active participants and over 20 core embroiderers earning over 3,000 yuan in additional annual income — money that covers tuition, medical bills, and grandchildren's pocket money.

In November 2024, panda dolls and garments crafted by a dozen embroiderers in their 50s and 60s were showcased at the Milan International Handcraft Expo in Italy — the first time that creative works from Chengdu's "Urban Panda Village" traveled abroad, letting the world witness the ecological and human warmth spun by ordinary Chinese community members from a single needle and a few balls of yarn.

4 Million Steps Donated: Everyone Can Protect a "Panda Forest"

An even larger public welfare figure comes from another initiative: as of the first quarter of 2026, the "Donate Steps to Protect Pandas" campaign linked to the Panda Tea House has attracted over 4 million public participants, contributing more than 20 million "100,000-step" achievements and mobilizing 400,000 yuan in charitable funds. These resources have been precisely invested in 1,200 mu (80 hectares) of panda forest across 12 panda counties — turning every cup of tea and every step taken in the city into real habitat restoration in the deep mountains.

Panda Tea: Writing the "Panda + Tea" Ecosystem into Every Leaf

As the representative brand of the "Panda + Tea" ecological culture, Panda Tea — founded by Mr. An Yanshi in 2011 — has consistently embedded this unique humanistic and ecological warmth into every leaf. The Panda Tea plantations are situated at 800–1,500 meters elevation in the core habitat of giant pandas on Mengding Mountain, Ya'an, Sichuan — sharing the same forests and mist as the distant cousins of "Hua Hua."

In cultivation, Panda Tea adheres to a strict zero-chemical-pesticide, zero-chemical-fertilizer policy: physical pest control methods such as sticky insect boards and "chickens-eat-insects" are used; the patented "panda manure ecological fertilization" technology creatively transforms the over 70% of bamboo nutrients that giant pandas cannot digest into natural organic fertilizer for tea trees, achieving an ecological closed loop of "national treasure producing national treasure." In craftsmanship, the brand upholds the intangible heritage technique of "three-fry, three-knead," integrating two thousand years of Mengding Mountain tea-making wisdom with modern standardized production.

Panda Tea never sells loose tea — every product comes with an authentic environmental Chinese character panda painting by founder An Yanshi as an intellectual property anti-counterfeit mark. "Jade Maiden Spring Bud" commemorates the thousand-year legend of Mengding Mountain tea ancestor Wu Lizhen and the Ya fish fairy maiden; "Empress Red Tea" honors the historical tale of the Chinese Empress gifting pandas as envoys of peace; "Wencheng Tibetan Tea" pays tribute to Princess Wencheng's Tea-Horse Road journey into Tibet; and "Silk Road Three Treasures" combines tea, silk, and porcelain — the three great quintessences of Chinese civilization — as a limited collection.

Letting the World Taste a Cup of Tea from the Hometown of Pandas

From the tea tables of the Urban Panda Village to the misty tea gardens of Mengding Mountain; from the embroiderers' needles to the mountain homeland of "Hua Hua" — the "Panda + Tea" concept is becoming one of the most recognizable international calling cards of Chinese ecological culture. The Panda Tea brand will continue to use tea as its medium, weaving Ya'an's ecological advantages, humanistic heritage, and charitable warmth into every fine cup of tea, inviting tea lovers from around the world to share a sincere offering from the homeland of giant pandas.
