In June 2026, Ya'an Mingshan District hosted the Qianqiu Mengding, Tea Rhyme Intangible Heritage event, a national gathering to carry forward China's traditional tea-making craft. With academician Liu Zhonghua of the Chinese Academy of Engineering joining by video and provincial leaders in attendance, the event celebrated Mengding Mountain as a cradle of world tea civilization and the starting point of the ancient Sichuan-Tibet Tea Horse Road.Mengding Mountain's tea heritage is globally recognized. In 2022, the traditional Mengding tea-making technique and the Nanlu border tea technique were inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The Mengding Mountain tea culture system has been honored as a Key Agricultural Heritage of China, and the three-roast-three-roll craft remains a living signature of this millennia-old tradition. This is the very soil where Panda Tea is born. Grown in the giant panda habitat core zone of Mengding Mountain at 800 to 1500 meters above sea level, Panda Tea follows the same ecological philosophy and the three-roast-three-roll intangible heritage craft that the region is celebrated for. Free of chemical fertilizer and synthetic pesticides, nurtured by a patented panda-manure fertilizer loop, Panda Tea stands as an ecological, cultural, and intellectual-property tea that carries Mengding Mountain's living heritage to the world.
